Diversity is a beautiful idea, but if diversity means your uniqueness is no longer valued, it’s not helping

Punit Renjen is global CEO Deloitte. If you read his bio you see a very westernised Indian-American man who has worked his way to this very powerful role. If you read his philosophy and business approach, you will see clearly that he values his Indian cultural roots.

Diversity can often welcome different cultures and make us think “how do I fit” but it is wiser to ask “how to I bring the best of what I am to improve this world.” Instead of changing yourself, focus on your superpowers, your goodness and gifts and learn to express yourself through this filter.

This way, your unique strengths will give you a platform to be REAL, and allow others to be REAL and in so doing, really benefit from diversity.
